Thanks to engineering analysis made by using Finite Element Method linear static, non-linear static, dynamic and thermal problems are solved. For these engineering analysis well-known Computer Aided Engineering (CEA) commercial software applications such as ABAQUS, ANSYS, NASTRAN are used.
The 3D finite element model of a specific local structure of the ship is formed with fine mesh. The stress values created by the forces acting on this structure are calculated and structural strength analysis is carried out. Following studies are some examples for local structure strength analysis.
Following analysis are carried out by creating appropriate 3D finite element model of the ship taking the ship’s structure, her mass distribution and additional water mass into consideration.
Based on the type and structure of the ship a a 3D finite element model of the global or her three compartments representing the ship is prepared. By calculating the force and moment values that are cited below and affecting the ship’s structure, the stress analysis of ship’s beam and her primary structural elements is carried out.
This category includes the analysis to find thermal distribution on the ship’s structure exposed to thermal loads due to high temperature values and the calculation of stress values created because of this thermal distribution. Thermal analysis are carried out especially for following ship types.
Within the scope of local structure vibration analysis there are free vibration analysis and derricks and panel structures such as deck or bulkhead supported by stiffeners, webs and pillars.
